Major sponsors of this tremendous effort were Builders First Source and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

Home construction began the morning of May 31 in the Hillsborough community of Fairview where Habitat has been building since 2006. Fairview is a decades-old community which in recent years has suffered from crime and safety issues. Working closely with the neighbors in Fairview, local community organizations and churches, and the Town of Hillsborough, Habitat for Humanity plays a collaborative role in the revitalization of Fairview by building new affordable homes that fit into, as well as uplift, the existing community.
On Monday, June 2nd at 2pm, Didiayer Snyder of ABC-TV’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition visited the Blitz Build site in Hillsborough to cheer on the homebuilders, their trades, Orange County inspectors, and Habitat homeowners, as well as celebrate the successful Fairview partnership.
On Friday, June 6th at 11am, the homes were presented to the three young families in a moving home dedication ceremony. Says Frank Wiesner, Chair of the Home Builders’ Blitz for the HBADOC, “We build houses everyday and for that we receive a check. This time, we are building homes in order to see the smiles on people’s faces, and the satisfaction of knowing we are changing lives and securing futures for these children.” Photos of the dedication ceremony are available here.
