POZEN Inc., a Chapel Hill based pharmaceutical company, is celebrating its great success by giving back to their community. In April, POZEN Inc. received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its migraine drug, Treximet™, developed in partnership with GlaxoSmithKline. Shortly thereafter, POZEN Inc. contacted HHOC about sponsoring a home in Orange County.
Employees felt that working with Habitat would be a meaningful way for them to celebrate their hard work and success, as well as a way to make a significant and tangible difference in their community. In addition, POZEN Inc. and its CEO are the sole sponsors of their home, fully funding its materials cost at $70,000.

On September 13, POZEN Inc. kicked off their build with future homeowner Teresa Bullock and her two young daughters, Toyie, 8, and Iyania, 6. Teresa has worked in the home health field and is now employed with UNC Hospital Nursing Practice Education and Research Department. Teresa currently lives in a dangerous neighborhood where she does not feel comfortable allowing her children to play outside. She is looking forward to living in her new Habitat home and enjoying the sense of community the neighborhood will bring.
