As many of you know, we have an exciting year ahead building new homes and repairing existing homes in the Northside neighborhood in downtown Chapel Hill. Multiple organizations helped make this possible, including the Town of Chapel Hill, Self-Help Credit Union, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Marian Cheek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History. Habitat is thrilled to build in a location where homeowners will have quick access to their work, schools, and community resources.
To illustrate Habitat’s year in this historic neighborhood, local textile artist Elaine O’Neil designed a collage, which includes important Northside landmarks: Hargraves Community Center, Mama Dip’s restaurant, St. Joseph C.M.E. Church, Northside Elementary School, neighboring UNC-Chapel Hill, and future Habitat homes. The collage will serve as Habitat’s logo for the year, so look for it on our website, print materials, and more!
Thank you so much to Elaine O’Neil for creating this thoughtful and custom design.
