Mask Policy

As of May 19, masks will not be required for outdoor work (framing, roofing, etc.) for fully vaccinated volunteers. We still ask unvaccinated volunteers to wear a mask and all volunteers regardless of vaccine status when doing indoor tasks (when walls and roof are on a home) to wear a mask. To lift this policy, we are still asking all volunteers to fill out our health screening which will be sent 24 hours before the shift. Fully vaccinated (2 weeks after your final shot) volunteers can send a photo of your vaccine card to volunteer@orangehabitat.org and will be exempt from filling out this health screening.

Number of volunteers on site

The number of volunteers per site is limited to ensure distancing is possible. For this reason, it is crucial to respect the maximum number of volunteers permitted onsite. If a shift is full, no additional people will be permitted to participate in the build. Please note that the shift is from 9AM-3PM with a lunch break. Participants can either eat distanced onsite or leave and return to site.

Sign up before you show up

All volunteers must register online prior to the builds in order to maintain the appropriate social distancing onsite. If you have not signed up, you will be asked to leave site.

Health screening

All volunteers will be sent a health screening 24 hours before the shift to confirm within the last two weeks they have NOT:

  • Attended an indoor gathering of over 10 people for more than 45 minutes
    • examples include indoor dining at bars and restaurants, indoor worship services, visiting an indoor gym, attending classes indoors, and other time spent indoors with more than 10 people.
  • Attended an outdoor gathering of over 25 people for more than 45 minutes
    • examples include outdoor dining at bars and restaurants, outdoor worship services, and other gatherings outside
  • Been in the presence of someone exhibiting symptoms of COVID or been in the presence of someone quarantined for potential COVID exposure.
  • Experience any symptoms including: fever/chills, sneezing, coughing, or sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, unusual fatigue, headache/muscle or body aches, and nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

Fully vaccinated (2 weeks after your final shot) volunteers can send a photo of your vaccine card to volunteer@orangehabitat.org and will be exempt from filling out this health screening.

  • A Face Mask. Face masks are only required for indoor work at this time. Please bring a mask in the event you are assigned an indoor task, but outdoor tasks including framing and roofing do not require a mask.
