Applications for Weavers Grove: Open July 19 Through August 1
Habitat for Humanity is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2024 cycle of its homeownership program for townhomes in Weavers Grove, a first-of-its-kind mixed-income community in Chapel Hill. Habitat will build 102 homes in Weavers Grove over the next four years, creating many chances to apply for a Habitat home in the neighborhood. Applications will close at 5 pm on Thursday, August 1.
Each application cycle and development may have different requirements based on several factors. The basic qualifications for the Fall 2024 Weavers Grove application cycle include:
- Living or working in Orange County for at least the past 12 months
- Being a first-time homebuyer
- An income of at least $48,700 annually and less than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
There are currently 33 households in the program to purchase homes in the Weavers Grove neighborhood. Many homebuyers, like Sonia, are excited to build community with one another. “We’re excited about the playground, being around other families like us, and more kids to play with,” said Sonia. “We get to know our neighbors and we are already becoming friends. We all have that dream of having a nice house and enough room for our children in a safe environment.”
