Early voting has begun in North Carolina! What’s your voting plan?
Early voting begins today, Thursday, October 17! Today is a great day to decide when and how you’re going to vote. While I usually love to vote on election day, this year I’ve decided to take advantage of the many conveniences of early voting and cast my ballot as soon as I can. Early voting gives you more flexibility, and it can also help the candidates you support by allowing campaigns to focus their election day efforts on fewer people still needing to vote.
There are many important local and statewide races on the ballot this year in addition to the presidential race. Voters in Chapel Hill will have the opportunity to vote YES on a $15 million bond for affordable housing. Habitat enthusiastically supports this bond measure, which you can read more about here. Bonds and other local government funds are really important to our work. More than $3.4 million in previous town bond funds helped to pay for infrastructure and construction materials for some of the homes we’re building right now in Weavers Grove!
Will you join me in making your voting plan today? Check out www.ncvoter.org for non-partisan election resources, including candidate guides, fillable sample ballots, and early voting information.
Happy voting!
