Global Village: Join Us in Malawi
Orange Habitat will travel to Malawi for the first time as part of Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program next summer, and you could be on that trip! Orange Habitat has funded over 350 homes with over $1.4 million in tithe globally to various international partners, and is excited to support a new community.
The trip will take place June 19–28, 2026, in Lilongwe, Malawi, where volunteers will support new home construction for orphans and other vulnerable populations.
Participants will spend time on the build site while also engaging in cultural exchange and learning alongside local partners.
Habitat for Humanity Malawi was established in 1986 and works to advance Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. In addition to building safe, disaster-resilient homes, Habitat Malawi partners with communities to improve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and supports disaster risk reduction and response for families living in areas most vulnerable to natural disasters. Since its founding, Habitat for Humanity Malawi has helped more than 133,000 people gain access to decent housing and more than 70,000 people improve access to water, sanitation, and hygiene.
The estimated cost of the trip is approximately $5,000, which includes airfare, lodging, meals, and a donation supporting Habitat’s work in Malawi. Volunteers as young as 15 years old are welcome to participate when accompanied by an adult. The trip will be led by Jennifer and Jon Player.
If you’ve ever wanted to combine service, learning, and global connection, this Global Village trip offers a meaningful way to partner with communities beyond Orange County.
