A Legacy gift ensures that your critical support of Orange Habitat will continue to help more families beyond your lifetime.  There are options that will cost you nothing now, as well as income-earning options that will provide income for you and make a tangible impact. Designing a Legacy Gift will also gain you membership in our Framing the Future Legacy Society.

You’re invited to learn more about this unique kind of giving at our first-ever Legacy Giving Forum. It will take place on Thursday, January 25, with sessions at 9:00 AM & 2:00 PM at St. Thomas More Church in Chapel Hill. Habitat for Humanity International Planned Giving Specialist Ellen Jones will lead the sessions. She will speak about tax-wise giving strategies, legacy-giving options, how you can set up your gift, and a question-and-answer period.

There are various ways to leave a legacy gift that will be covered during this forum. These include making a gift by will or naming Orange Habitat a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy. A Charitable Gift Annuity is becoming a popular option since the rates have increased in 2024. This provides a donor with a fixed, guaranteed income for life while providing Orange Habitat with a future gift.
