Volunteer Spotlight: Halfway through 2024
We’re halfway through 2024 and have seen over 1,500 volunteers on our construction sites in Chapel Hill! As we celebrate our 40th anniversary this calendar year, we reflect on how vital volunteers are to our work. Founded in 1984, Orange Habitat was run solely by volunteer efforts until the first staff member was hired in 1992. While we have a construction staff of over 10 today, we still rely on the individuals and groups who come to the site weekly to build homes, communities, and hope.
This last month, we’ve hosted many wonderful groups on our build sites, including Lord Aeck Sargent, Redeye Worldwide, Xylem, and Love Chapel Hill. They helped with a range of projects, from landscaping at Gattis Court in preparation for its dedication ceremony to more traditional builds at Weavers Grove.
You can join us on-site for the last half of 2024! Click here to learn more about volunteering and our different opportunities, or email Tiffany at tenglert@orangehabitat.org to schedule a group build.
Thank you, volunteers, for your time and dedication to Habitat!
