Volunteer Spotlight: North Carolina Housing Finance Agency
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is proud to partner with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) to make homeownership more attainable for local families.
Earlier this month, more than 50 employees from the Raleigh office joined us for a volunteer shift at Weavers Grove, many seeing firsthand the homes and community they help make possible. Volunteers spent the day raising walls and installing a firewall, contributing directly to the progress of future Habitat homes.
As a member of the Self-Help Loan Pool (SHLP), NCHFA offers Habitat financing to assist eligible homebuyers in purchasing new and existing homes. In 2025 alone, NCHFA provided $455,000 in mortgage assistance to Orange County residents — helping increase Habitat’s capacity to build and sell more affordable homes. Now, they’ve been able to be part of the homebuyer process from beginning to end.
We’re grateful for NCHFA’s ongoing partnership and hands-on commitment to building a stronger, more equitable future for families in our community.
