Volunteer Spotlight: Youth Fundraising
In the month of November, both our Youth Council, made up of high school students in Chapel Hill and Carrboro) and the UNC-Chapel Hill college club hosted fundraisers for Orange Habitat.
On November 10, the UNC-Chapel Hill collegiate chapter hosted their second annual Pickleball tournament (pictured here) which raised over $2,000! Pairs of student groups and community members played double elimination style in a friendly competition for a good cause.
The following weekend on November 16, the Youth Council, made up of students from Chapel Hill and Carrboro high schools hosted the annual favorite, Rake a Thon. The students divided and conquered 15 lawns in the area, raising $1,000 for Orange Habitat.
These two events not only raised much-needed funds but also demonstrated the incredible commitment of our young people to making a positive impact. We are proud to have such passionate supporters who are eager to make a difference in the lives of families who are working hard to achieve homeownership.
Thank you, youth volunteers, for your time and dedication to Habitat!
