Women Build: Mega Building Bash Celebration

May 16, 2024

This past weekend, our long-awaited Women Build Mega Building Bash took place after being rescheduled due to weather in March. This special build day at Weavers Grove featured a celebration of empowerment, unity, and the hard work of women building stable and affordable homes.

The Mega Building Bash was not your average construction day. The Batalá Durham Drum Line provided an exciting welcome to kick off the day and a female DJ, Luxe Posh, kept the energy high with lively beats throughout the build. There were plenty of fun photo opportunities by the balloon arch with volunteers wearing their Women Build t-shirts. Everyone enjoyed lunch together with food provided by Builders First Source.

We were thrilled to announce that we exceeded our $35,000 fundraising goal. This was thanks in large part to our Ambassadors’ who went above and beyond to raise funds. We also appreciate the support of our sponsors Chapel Hill OB/GYN and Gonzales Painters and Contractors.

Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program recruits, educates, and inspires women. They build, fundraise, and advocate for stable, affordable homes in our communities. Women Build volunteers and fundraisers come from all walks of life. They have come together for 16 years in Orange County to build safer, stronger communities.
