Weavers Grove is located by East Chapel Hill High School and is currently under construction. It is Orange Habitat’s first mixed income development. As of January 2026, about half of the total 102 Habitat homes have been purchased. Construction is set to be completed in 2028. Applications are open on a rolling basis when homes are about 9 months from move in ready.

Homestead Gardens

2200 Homestead Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Near highway 86/MLK Blvd, Homestead Gardens is a unique partnership between Casa, Community Home Trust, Self Help, and Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, NC. There will be 33 townhomes and duplexes available for homeownership. This development, situated on Town-owned land, is minutes from Chapel Hill High School as well as Smith Middle School and Seawell Elementary School. There are plenty of activities to do in this area as it is close to the Homestead Aquatic Center, The Chapel Hill Skate Park, and the Greene Tract. Construction is expected to begin Fall 2026.

Auman Village

1317 US 70-A East Hillsborough, NC 27278

Auman Village (formerly known as East Village) is located just East of the Orange County SportsPlex in Hillsborough. This development will have 75 homes total – 15 homes will be for homebuyers receiving 80 to 120% AMI and the remaining will be for homebuyers receiving 30 to 80% AMI. There will be 2, 3, and 4 Bedroom townhomes including ADA units for sale. The development is minutes away from downtown Hillsborough, the UNC Hospital, and plenty of nature trails and preserves with easy access to Durham via I-85. Construction is estimated to begin in 2028.

Carver Street

Carver Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Located in the heart of the historic Northside Neighborhood in Chapel Hill, the Carver Street project was secured through a partnership with the Northside Neighborhood Initiative. Increasing the availability of housing and finance options is just one of the goals of the UNC-Chapel Hill, Self-Help, the Jackson Center, and Town of Chapel Hill. These two story townhomes are minutes from the Hargraves Center, Northside Elementary, Umstead Park, and downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
