Our Homes

Homestead Gardens is a unique partnership between Orange Habitat, CASA, the Community Home Trust, and Self Help that will provide a total of 33 affordable homeownership opportunities (in addition to around 60 affordable rentals) minutes from local schools, the Homestead Aquatic Center, the Chapel Hill Skate Park, and the Seymour Senior Center. The project broke ground in March 2026 with vertical construction expected to begin in 2027.

Steps from the Orange County SportsPlex in Hillsborough, Auman Village will consist of 75 thoughtfully designed townhomes. 60 units will be traditional Habitat homes for households earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI); the remaining 15 units will be designated as workforce housing for households earning between 80% and 120% of AMI. Townhomes will range from two to four bedrooms, and some will be ADA-accessible. The development is minutes away from downtown Hillsborough, the UNC Hospital, and plenty of nature trails and preserves with easy access to Durham via I-85. We expect vertical construction to begin in the second half of 2027.

Located in the heart of the historic Northside Neighborhood in Chapel Hill, the Carver Street project was secured through a partnership with the Northside Neighborhood Initiative. Increasing the availability of housing and finance options is just one of the goals of the UNC-Chapel Hill, Self-Help, the Jackson Center, and Town of Chapel Hill. Vertical construction is expected to begin in late 2028.
